Courtney Latham, MA, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

I understand that therapy can be scary and hard.

I consider myself to be a pretty straightforward and warm therapist, who also likes to swear, laugh and be real with clients.

With me, therapy will be a conversation, rather than a cold observant face listening and nodding. I try to balance challenging and going at your own pace as much as possible in the therapy room.

In my free time, you can often find me exploring local restaurants, shops, and patios. I love being outdoors, traveling, cooking Italian food, reading, movies, and spending time with my husband, three year old daughter, dog, and two cats- who I frequently refer to as "the critters".

MASTER'S DEGREE IN MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY

I have my Master's degree from St. Mary's University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. I completed a year-long practicum in Private Practice, where I began seeing individuals, couples and families with a variety of diagnosis, including Depression, Anxiety, Anger, Personality Disorders, and Relationship Issues.

BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN PSYCHOLOGY

I have my Bachelor's degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota.

MENTAL HEALTH EXPERIENCE

I have been working in the Mental Health Field since 2010. I have experience as an Mental Health Advocate, Independent Living Skills Counselor, Housing Support Specialist, Mental Health Office Administrator, and a Psychotherapist. My experience with clients ranges from Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (Bi-Polar and Schizophrenia) to Personality Disorders and now currently specializing in Depression, Anxiety, Self-Esteem, and Relationship Issues.

PREPARE/ENRICH CERTIFIED

I am certified as Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, which is the #1 standardized premarital and marital assessment. The assessment is completed online by each partner in a couple and I act as the facilitator to overview relationship dynamics, strengths and growth areas according to the assessment.

LICENSURE

I'm currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist under the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy in the state of Minnesota. My license number is 3918.
